What does it cost to become a licensed operator of UMOVEME (and what do you get?)

In addition to the 'one-off' area/territory fee above, there is a small monthly licence fee of just £49.00 and you keep ALL of the profits from your business, so you can trade part-time or fill-time as you see fit. You can also expand and grow within your area as much as you want, without any pressure other than what you want to impose on yourself.

What we give you....

  • Website with your own on-line packaging shop for your clients.

  • Set of branded marketing materials including your Business Card, Leaflets/Flyers, Customer Satisfaction Cards, Newspaper Ads, and Furniture Tags etc (low cost print for ongoing use).

  • Full branding and livery for your vehicle.

  • 2 days intensive face-to-face training in all aspects of setting up and running the business.

  • Access to low cost Payroll services if you are not a partnership and intend to employ someone to help you run your operations.

What you will need in addition… (additional costs)

You will need a large Transit-style vehicle, in good condition, and a small amount of working capital to cover insurance costs, along with a small number of accessories required to run the business to professional standards. The amount you will need is likely to be around £2000 including the average deposit required if you buy your vehicle on HP.

Finally, if your UMOVEME business is not being set up in partnership with someone who will also be helping you with removals and lifting, you will need to employ or contract people to assist you with your workloads as and when needed. In this instance, you would also need a small amount of additional working capital for employee/contractor wages during the first few months as your business grows. We suggest you should have a safety net of around 4-6 months wages in your bank account for this.

What you will need in addition… (skills)

To qualify to run your own UMOVEME, you'll need to be physically fit and like the idea of doing a partly physical job.

As you will require extra hands for the lifting involved in carrying out light removals, you will need to know someone with whom you can go into partnership or who you can employ or contract to help you whenever needed.

Ideally you will also need to be the type of person who loves to provide excellent customer service, can communicate well and wants to build a business for long term reward.

If you are all of the above, starting your own business with UMOVEME presents you with a low cost, low risk path to get going in your own business straight away.

How quickly can I get my UMOVEME business up and running?


Once you have purchased your territory and licence, we aim to train, set up and establish you to trade within 28 days (no messing about!). After you have been trading for a while you will also have options to purchase further intensive help to grow your business if you need it.
